    No more synta gold

Just spoke with gsf, tell me they've stopped doing synta gold, and are now using Fuchs oil. Guy say's Audis are coming out of factory with the fuchs stuff.
Anybody Know any more about this.
I've always used the synta gold, what fuchs stuff should I be using in the RS2?
    Any advice appreciated.
    Cheers.

I always thought synta gold was too thin myself. Theres plenty of choices for fully synthetic oil. There are some oil threads on here - do a search and you'll see them.

Fuchs make some of the best fully synthetic oil available

I've used the Pro R and Pro S range before, although not sure what weight is right for the RS2.... Pm Oilman

GSF stopped supplying Synta at least 6 months ago. Fuchs is just as good if not better.
As for the spec, VW 500 00 or VW 500 01 is quoted in the RS2 manual.

VW 500 00 is quoted as the better of the two. Multigrade SAE 5W-50, 10W-50/10W-60 meet this specification.

Hope this is of some help.

That's good news. I've been using Fuchs Silkolene products for years.

                      Thanks guy's for the input.
Thought I'd pay a visit to my local dealer to see wether the Synta Gold had dryed up.
Low and behold, still plenty for sale. GSF COMMENT, AUDI ONLY DO FUCHS NOW.
They use Synta stuff for our older cars.
Guy say's RS4's use different stuff again.
As usual on forum some for, some against the Synta Gold. Some of you change your oil by months/mileage.
I change mine every 12 months. My car does about 6 thou a year, and it doesn't get tracked or thrashed on roads. The color of the oil is still very clear after 12 months.
I don't know enough about the breakdown of oil over time, but my gut feeling is that my engine will be happy enough with a change every 12 months.
                      Any thoughts comments welcome.
                      Cheers.

I've been using the Castrol rs 10/60 in the S2 but @ nearly £40 for 4ltrs (then you have to buy extra 1ltr for fill up) its a tad expencio.
Have always used Silkolene pro-4 in the bike & just did a quick bay search on both the castrol & silkolene, seems silkolene are slightly cheeper, so with that in mind i think ill swap to the silkolene r-10/50 as Audi now recomend Fuchs oils.
