A little info needed from those in the know

I have wheels which are 8J x 18H2 ET 48 and need to put them on the S2 Avant which size is 7.5J x 16H2 ET37

What size of spacer do you think will do for these wheels .... 10mm?

Have heard people putting bigger spacers on the rear than the front ?

    Very grey area for me

10mm will give you an offset of 38mm of course, I think 32-35mm is usually preferred for 8J wheels. Bigger spacers on the rear is really only for aesthetic reasons nothing else.

Of course. 1mm isn't that critical.

Your best off taking advice from Avant owners running the same combo

The ideal combo is 15mm front 10mm back for the S2 Avant.

You can get away with running 15mm all round but the back is about 1mm away from the arch when the spring compresses and sometimes rub fi your car is on lowered springs.

AndersS2 runs 15mm all round, so do I at present

S2avant is running the 15mm/10mm combo and I intend to follow with the same combo.

                @ Jamo

Have you got your arches rolled mate? Or are they standard?
I know Anders has got his arches rolled and pulled so he doesn't have a problem with 15mm spacers and clearence on the rear.

I am looking to drop a set of S8 avus's on mine for the summer next year and I'd like to use hubcentric spacers all round, pleanty available in 15mm but I can only seem to find normal flat spacers in 10mm and I don't really fancy using them.
I've got a mate with a proper arch rolling kit and he'll do that for free for me but he's never pulled arches before and he's not keen to try for the first time with my pride and joy!!

I'd like to have more than 1mm's clearence if I'm to go ahead with it and I'm running H&R's and Koni's so it's lower anyway...

@ Knight Rider mine were made by a forum member but you can get them from FK automotive which are hub centric

@bazookachicken - I don't think they are rolled, I doubt the previous owner did that and to be honest it's not something I'd considered hmmm :mischeif:

There are 10mm hubcentric ones H&R do them, there's also another company that does them but I can't remember the name of the top of my head

I'm running 15mm on the front and 12mm on the rear.
I tried looking for 10mm hubcentric spacers but couldn't find any.

This is where I got mine from, not cheap, but very good.

                          They're ideal.
                          Oh well......too late now.
I thought when I fitted them that 10mm spacers could have gone on.

To be honest I think 10 or 12 will do nicely
