scrubbed the edge compared to the others. The handling seems to deteriated
aswel in the last month. Its had new shocks ,drop links all the bushes done and was
aligned after that ,its also got lowered srings.A chap at the garage said it cold be a

I've never heard of a knackered diff before, especialy at the sort of mileage that car has done. Is the diff lock stuck on?
Look at who did the alignment! Maybe a second opinion is needed.

Did he replace the front subframe bushings. Mine does this also; I have replaced everything up front but the subframe bushings... In fact it is so bad now there is a clunk when going over large bumps.

Mine scrubs on full lock, must be something to do with having 4wd, never worried me or caused excessive wear on the tyres as I'm perfectly capable of wrecking them myself in about 10k or so :mischeif:

My A6 tdi(2wd) does this on the front n/s only, although mine seems to be accompanied by a noise.Im thinking my problem could be with a top mount/bearing/spring problem.

I get a skipping sort of effect but that is in reverse when on lock on gravel you can physically feel the car drag the wheel over the way you are turning I was putting it down to running 19's. Does not seem to be doing any damage.

I had something like this on my 20v quattro sport but that was due to trying the diff lock for the first time and it not disengaging so had to do a hard launch to get that off afterwards it was fine.

                Andy,

I'd be tempted to have a quick look at the steering rack , particularly the security of the two bolts on the n/s as you look down on top of the rack, if they're loose (not always obvious unless you try to turn them !) they'd give the effect you mention and the wear on the n/s tyre

maybe unconnected but easy to check and fix

Just spoke to john and he switched the diff lock on thinking it might be stuck and when
driving off in a straight line the back end was jumping around ,strange .

                              Mr Underhand.
Didn't they fit some suspension parts to it, not long ago?
So, he put it out of alignment and then charged to put it back.
                              Underhand indeed.
