    M5 airfield accident

Terrible.... I don't understand how this guys could be out in the middle of night doing high speed runs in a 2008 M5. The parents should be ashamed of themselves.

    Strange

Alright guys Im new here and I have a question....as I am driving in m mode with the car set in p500 sport and everything set to max, as I shift with the paddle shifters it sounds like the transmission is banging into gear,(like there is a thud that comes from the trunk when I upshift.....)...

I am sorry, but what parent gives an M5 to an 18 years old Kid?

That is indeed a stupid and senseless loss of life, but they were all over 18 so its hardly fair to go blaming the parents. Its pretty clear what their intentions were i.e to go as fast is possible in that beemer. They paid the ultimate price it would seem.

It is shocking how much damage a solid tree can impart on a modern car moving at speed.

Hate to say it, but I really have no sympathy for this kid or his parents.
Stupid little rich kid showing off to his friends who pay for it with their lives

I agree with you there Paul. The only thing I can fault the parents with is allowing him, an untrained driver, to get behind the wheel of a 500hp saloon at 3am. Not good judgement on parents part.

The tree didn't budge an inch.

what can you say, senseless waste. As said, who gives a driver with 2 yrs experience a 500bhp car to play with and not then expect it....and probably the occupants to be in several pieces shortly afterwards.

I think that the parents do have to take some responsibility...he may have been 18+ but being sensible suggests that they could have foreseen the likelihood of an accident if he already had 4 tickets, even if not as serious as the one which occured. Yes the driver put it into the tree, but he should never have been offered the keys IMO

Thats really sad news, but at the end of the day he shouldn't have had the keys to the car in the first place. I'm 23 and my dad would never let me drive a car like that, i've got 6 years no claims and 3 points(speeding). To be honest i think i would crap myself in a car that powerfull through the rear wheels.......
