Halfords tools down in price again.

    Hi Guys,
Not sure how resent this price drop is but these tools are down to £99 again.

These kits are great and well worth it. So if you haven't got a set yet and are thinking about buying tools soon anyway then get'em now before they double in price again..

P.s. Alternatively join these fools and get them here from the bay

I got myself a set this time last year although the RRP was 150GBP down to 100GBP.
They come with a lifetime guarantee too.

I can also point you in the direction of a car club that costs £15 a year to join, and you then get a Halfords trade card, which covers things like tools, batteries, wipers, car service spares (Brake discs, pads etc etc)

The only problem is, they are not taking any new members for a month or so due to the guy who does it all having someone very ill in his family and not having the time to sort it all out.
As soon as its open again I will post

Em, if you get down to your local halfords and can prove you are in the trade, you can get one of these discount cards for free. All you need is a wage slip from the trade, or an invoice you have prepared for a customer. I did my invoice on the computer in 10 minutes, went down and saved 50% on some bulbs. Oh yeah, forgot to say, i am a paramedic and the invoice is the first and last i will be doing, hope my customer, a Mr I P Freely is happy with the work.

I've a set of these too. Actually have had 2 sets but left one out for 5 mins when stripping a car once and they dissapeared quicker than you would believe...

I have managed to 'crack' a couple of sockets (replaced with no hassle) but I will admit to having a rather large extension bar in use at the time.

Definite bargain at less than a £100....

I bought this tool set and to be fair it's worth every penny, oh and the set has the size 10 socket for doing spark plugs on the S2 engine! FYI

Also reminds me, Kightrider_S4 you got my 3/8" 8mm allen socket and one spanner can't remember which size, as i have 2 3/8" 5mm allen sockets in my set, Istoo Poo must have been playing jokes or something

The only thing i can fault with these is the old cases, the hinges tend to break but it looks like they have addressed this and upgraded them from plastic to metal.
Aside form that my 4 year old set is still going strong.
They dont like getting rained on and not being dried out.
If you buy one keep the till receipt as you will need this to get replacement tools iirc.

£100 is a very good price though.

Agree on the hinges, however as you say new sets look to have been upgraded.

Had my original set for 12 years now, had to buy a repair kit for the 1/4" and 1/2" drive ratchets and I've managed to snap a coupe of the 3/8" drive bits. That said I'm heavy on my tools, for the money Halfords pro stuff is unbeatable IMO.
