Think thats a bit of a harsh comment.. Easy ride!!! I'm a LH fan I live in the same town and have been speaking to this chap back in his go karting days. He's alway been silly fast even when he didnt have Rons backing and his dad was working his **** off with more than 2 jobs to surpport him. In my eyes he's a born racer that has shown what hes was all about from a young age. Perhaps thats why he's had a easy ride !!! If you want to put it that way.The fact that people want to water this down with the silver spoon talk makes me laugh as I know he's worked very hard for his place from a young age. Like the 100's of other kids thats have tried before and still are at places like Rye house Karting.

          He won by pure luck.

Massa`s and Raikonen`s faces on the podium were the best part of the event.

            Calm down!

It is true compared to Mansell who sold his house and lived rough to make it. Don't think LH has had to do that.

I've got nothing against the guy but I have met a lot of drivers in my time, many of whom had to drop out of efforts to get to the top flight due to financial constraints, something which LH has never had to worry about thanks initially to his father and latterly due to Uncle Ron.

On the other side of the coin ...Skull ....pure luck?!! What about Massa getting second place through pure Raikkonen help?!!

keeper: yes LH was lucky to be the best driver and having the best car helps.

the ferrari "team work" is prohibited by the F1 rules, but no penalty for them as they are Ferrari.

Yeah he was "lucky" to be faster than anyone else in quali and end up on pole... then he was "lucky" to be faster then anyone else for a majority of the race!

Oh and contrary to popular belief Raikkonen didnt let Massa past under team orders - he was merely following the new FIA "racing" guidelines for drivers who are being followed by Felipe Massa - ie. that they should do everything in their power to ease the little cry baby's path past you, while they showed lenience to Mark Webber in Japan (after he explained that he was only moving to the right to let Mass past on the left and the Brazillian simply misunderstood) they have made it clear that there will be no such mercy in the future and penalities will apply!

Don't worry though I'm sure the investigation is already under way into claims that Lewis was speeding down the main straight and that he is a "big meanie" :mischeif:

The rules don't actually stop drivers making "their own decision" in the race ...it's only if the team communicates an instruction while they're out there ...so no risk of contravening sporting regulations. All the teams are careful about this since the rule change came into force!

I have it on good authority that Kimi Raikkonen happended to choose that exact moment to test Ferrari's momentum driving pulse and glide capabilities to gain data for next year's hypermileage race:

Just a shear coincidence. Nothing to do with team orders.

I notice our German friend is strangely quite today. LH didn't look at Alonso or Massa in a funny way. He didn't walk on the cracks in the pavement, he wasn't walking in a loud shirt in a built-up area during the hours of darkness or walking around with an offensive wife - although it was noted that he was still in possession of curly black hair and thick lips so maybe there will be some compaints in due course

So all in all, we can all agree then, that LH lucked into pole position, the race win and the fasted lap and all the drivers are now scared of being on the same track as a Ferrari in fear of being penalised - except Fisi who goes out for a Sunday drive all in a world of his own (what planet is he on?)

On the flip side, I think Raikkonen did the right thing to pull over for Massa for several reasons: -

                        1. Massa helped Raikkonen last year so it was payback time and quite normal in motorsport.
                        2. Maybe Raikkonen would be fined by the stewards as well for daring to be ahead of Massa.
                        3. Massa has never won a race that he didn't start from the front row....ever! - What does that tell you?

                        Cheers n

                        Si

I checked in to see the latest installment of LH is not Senna

Drove a great weekend...though I am sure the FIA are already forumulating a new rule for brazil to ensure any penalty they can think of pining on LH will ensure either automatic disqualification or a 'special' local variant to swap finishing places to make the championship Massa's

Maybe the new engine will throw up some new suprises, I had heard there was some sanctioned, nitrous homologation work going on at Ferrari recently

I remember when Ferrari (back in the days in the wilderness) regularly qualified well at Monza, thereby ensuring large crowd turnouts for the race day. A team member from another team (team and staff member not named) was quoted as saying that was "what you got for running 4.0 litres, underweight and illegal fuel blends" ...only half jokingly.
