    Freaky thingy!

Don't know if it's been up here before but I saw this one over at NordicAudi and thought that I should share it:

Have a look at that thing on the ice!

I do think that thing is cool, and show how far we have actually come.
But I find it disturbing as well, cant put my finger on it though.. it's not the military factor, more like something is moving in a way it should not be able to.

            That IS freaky.

UrS4boy is spot on about the payload.

I can't believe how well it stands up and moves. It is like a cross between a donkey and a scorpion or something

Yeah, i agree with that comment. Its an amazing achievement but the way it moves is disgusting. Especially on ice. Its way to realistic the way its constantly correcting its weight and balance. I reckon a horse would struggle to outmaneuver that think on ice...
              Very freaky.

I find it scary it can be programmed to adjust to movements and surfaces like the ice.... the way it has almost natural responses such as falling or slipping...
Most mechanical ways of getting round that are very pronounced and direct... this is almost constant and thus looks very natural... at first i thought it was two blokes with some weird thing on their shoulders lol.

So did I - for awhile. What I noticed was that the one in front looks like somebody walking backwards and the one in front looks like somebody walking forwards.

Pretty amazing interaction between the stabilization hardware and software.
