RS2 Alternator

Hi there,

Am new to this so if im in the wrong section please let me know...!

Have finally managed to buy an RS2, yeeeaah, and although sound there are a couple of things i need to do to it, starting with a new alternator. I do not know what alternator i can put in, is it a specialist alternator for the RS2 or is there a standard one i can fit, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It should be a 120A Bosch unit, part number of 034 903 016NX as this is an exchange item. Having said that, there were some very early RS2's that had a 90A Valeo alternator

Any differences between the S2 and RS2 altenators? They both seem to be 120A Bosch units.

Thanks for your reply. Wondering if it makes a difference using a 120a, i guess using a 90a would if it needs a 120a but not sure about it the other way around.

you need audi rs2 120a alternator, these are very heavy and cost £464 + vat for audi. but think vag parts do one for £280(ish) VAT

if its just the brushes that are worn out it wont cost much to repair,worth checking first

HI, i only phone up on friday morning, 280(exchange) but without exchange 464?
i pretty sure the lady on the phone told me that.
