    Porsche part number?

Can anyone identify this number please LU 5143 965 351 048 00 (MIN TH 30MM). It is on a front brake disc. If it is a porsche number will I only be able to order it through porsche? Thanks in advance.

    Simon.

965 351 048 00 is the part number you should be asking for.

Thanks for that Bry, mine are 332 I believe. Disappointed that one has warped after only 18 months though especially as I don't drive the car hard! I have done less than 3000 miles Might contact porsche to see what they think, could be a bad batch. Don't fancy the bill for a new pair either especially as the Germans only replace faulty/damaged parts in pairs, they don't do repairs or skimming etc and even with the tax off it is still big bucks.

I wouldn't be suprised, the cheap zimmerman standbys on the rear are perfect with a really good handbrake. Who would I get a replacement set of 332 x 30 from, would GSF do something like it do you think?

Standard porsche I believe, they did have to be changed as the original pads squealled like a pig. Is it possible to get a non porsche disc at 332mm?

Are these part of a Movit kit?
I have heard other people say they are 332mm in diameter. However I thought they used Porsche 993tt discs which are 322/323X32mm. Nearly all the Porsche discs on the earlier models are 322/323mm in diameter. Are they one piece or two?
                  http://porsche968uk.co.uk/technical_...968-brakes.htm

If they are the original Audi RS2 upgrade they would be 322/323mm in diameter!

You are going to have to double check that part number. If it was a 046 rather than 048 then they would be identified as per that link.
The TH30 means the minimum thickness. They started out as 32mm thick.
Aren't there any places that would do an on vehicle brake skim. Most of the larger tyre places over here have such facilities. That would certaintly be the most cost effective method assuming the discs are not below the minimum.
Failing that, once you have identified the correct Porsche fitment its likely you could save a few quid by sourcing non OE stuff.

Mate, thanks AGAIN after cleaning up the number is 46 and not 48. I have spoken to the local VW garage who are extremely helpful and they may be able to put me in touch with someone who can skim the RH disc. The Germans are not the same as the English when it comes to stuff like that it is change it don't fix it! Can I get this size disc from any other manufactures?

                          RS2 Discs

                          Hi Si

Hmmm this is a very tricky area isn't it? I spent about 2 days reading all the threads on the forum to try and get a definitive answer. Which discs fit?

My RS2 has the big red 332 upgrade with cross drilled discs. I thought it would be easier to find this info out than it was...In the end I rang and ordered my discs through Corey at Quattronics who was excellent and got me the discs in 2 days.

He supplied me 993TT discs (993.351.045.10) lhs and (993.351.046.10) rhs. £135 plus vat each

However, these are not a straight bolt on replacement!!!! My mechanic had to use the old disc hub and mount the new disc on them.

It would be worth ringing Quattro corner as he had a set of 332 discs he was going to sell to me at cost. I just didn't want to order the wrong ones as they are not light!

I don't know if this helps. But good luck sourcing the new one.

                          Cheers

                          Simon

I'm digging this up because I'm looking at replacement Big Red discs on the RS2. I have just fitted some Porsche front discs, part number 965.351.045.00 / 046.00

However - today I was offered a set of 322mm 2-piece cross drilled discs at a good price, ex Audi dealer stock, no packaging just the discs (a bit corroded) which have a Porsche number punched on them: 965.351.046.11 on the RHS, not sure of the number on the LHS.

Can't find ANY info on this part number, apart from a German forum where someone suggested these were the Porsche number, anyone seen this before

I'm thinking I should get them, worst case swap the bells from my old discs ( which do look identical, minus part number)!

They are the same disks, Ross. From what I know about Porsche part numbers, 965.351.046.11 is a revision of 965.351.046.00. So they are both for a 964 3.6 Turbo.
The last 2 digits are like the last letter of an Audi part number.
If the main 9 digit part number ends with an even number, the part is for the RHS of the car. Odd and it is for the left.
