Personally I find every western country that slaps 80% duty and/or taxes to be knowingly and unshamefully partially responsible for these increases in prices at the pump... and they just can't be bothered to try and do something about it like reducing taxes

Here in Belgium, a year ago, 1 liter of diesel costed 85 eurocents and a barrel of oil costed around 75-80 Euros.

A year later, 1 liter of diesel costs 1,25 Euros and a barrel of oil still costs around 80-85 Euros thanks to the dollar losing considerable value against the Euro.

Talk about a huge legal scam and NO ONE is really complaining and just resign themselves by saying "well, what can you do?"

I'm sure this situation could be addressed by protesting on a country wide or even a european wide day of protest, I would gladly go and protest but I'm quite sure most people will just prefer keeping on getting ripped off by Wall Street, the oil companies and their beloved and so righteous governments who are raking in millions of extra Euros/ Pounds because of these prices.

My daily driver isn't my S2 anymore because of this mess ! I just couldn't keep on affording the price hikes...

Ouch, thats expensive. How much is it per litre round your neck of the woods? I filled mine last week and it cost me £65. Cant remember how many litres that was though.

I went to put some diesel in my E34 yesterday and thought against that idea. I put £30 in and it brought the needle to just over a quarter.

I presume you mean a liter of gasoline (petrol). It hasn't increased as much as diesel as there is far less demand for petrol in Belgium as the vast majority of cars are diesel powered ( I strongly suspect that VW TDI's make up close to 25% of all cars on the roads here ). A liter of "jungle juice" costs about 1,55 Euros for Super 98
