I know all about Mikalor clamps for use on the turbo pipes but I was wondering what clamps are best for use everywhere else and where to get them from?
Just don't want to have to buy ones made from toffee from halfrauds.
UrS6 - Homefry, Bailey DV, PiperX filter, Samco hoses, H&R springs, 3" D/P back zorst, 270bhp and 260ftlb
I, personally am not a fan of Mikalor for boost pipes - I'll tell you why, I think they're too wide and I have had better results with thin hose clamps that excert more pressure, therefore giving a better seal. (Thats exactly how I fixed my last 2 boost leaks).
I do however use Mikalor on my other 'project' for the water pipes - I used them after all other clamps failed to stop water seepage.
I think it depends upon the seal type, is the pipe beaded? If so, go for thin clamps placed just inside the bead line. If the pipes are straight and plain - go for Mikalor....
That's my completely biased and non-scientific answer, but it works for me.....
DT has a good range of Mikalor btw, they have ones with stainless bolts (good for zorts but very expensive) or standard zinc bolts, fine for all other applications....
Semi-drunken rambling over..........
I can do another group buy if there is enough interest and will include people from overseas this time the only problem i have heard about is the mikalor clamp on the throttle body, it fits but is a bit awkward plus these clips should only really be used with the samco's hoses but are fine for the original water hoses
