  • Car alarm confusion.....

I am being harassed by my insurance company to supply a Thatcham approved Certificate for my Sigma alarm....

is it more cost effective to get it re-certified or get another approved alarm fitted?

    any advice given gratefully received....

I very much doubt any reputable car security place will provide a cert for someone elses work.

Tell them to fupp off - goto another insurer... All they want is a 'certified install' - usually done by the local **** with an O-level in science at Halfrauds - I've seen enough bodged wiring of that sort to put me off for a lifetime.

sorry for any confusion caused but its a Thatcham Cat cert they need....it's not the installation but the alarm....

              update....
turns out the alarm that was fitted wasn't connected to owt!!!....me thinks the original
sigma key fobs were lost so a previous owner must of disconnected the alarm...so a simple check over cost me a quarter of my new brake/wheel upgrade!!!....baggar!..

now fitted with a "real" thatcham alarm....pphheeww...at least I am confident if I leave it anywhere, it'll be there when I get back!!...
