Faheemo. Can you tell me why you suspect your head gasket has a failure? I do not see the connection with your water tank?

If the cam belt looks good then i'd suspect it has dropped a valve or two.

Bit of a bar steward Sorry to hear this. By the way, £1800 for a re-spray, was that to change colour inside and out? If not I will need to tell dad to up his prices

Head gasket can fail between a water jacket and a cylinder.
Pressure from the cylinder can then enter the coolant system, pressurising it and blowing a hose off or as in my case releasing some pressure from the coolant/water tank.

My cam belt looks fine as well, but she swings with no compression and it sounds as if not a single cylinder is firing.
I pray it's not the worst, 4 us both.

Sorry 4 the hijack but i guess we in the same boat.

Just to update this thread, my cars crank (cambelt) pulley sheared the keyway and slipped the timing. therfore no compression. Therafter 10 valves bent.

After having a look at the crank pulley dahlback offer i decided to Manufacture my own pulley made from EN19T steel. the dahlback one costs beeg EUROS.
I will be running a few extra for much cheaper if anyone is interested.

keep us updated, i'd have been tempted to take the head off and check the valves tho?

do you think they will be ok?
