orientate one of those so up side down way is now and it looks like they are almost identical, infact one locating pins looks to be same place
looks like it is a development of the good old 5pot from the late 70's then


so how wants try a use 20v direct injection head then, im guessing it is direct injection?

AFAIK there are some variation of this engine, 2.5 jetta, is non FSI, where TT RSI is FSI. the holes are not matching at all.
