They are very cool and bloody quick, but they are a nightmare to mantain.

Electrics and engine are not very reliable. Had a few mates have them and they had to get rid of them quick time.

I considered one as a daily driver.

They look decent, saw a nice blue one at the petrol station last night. Hasn't got 4wd which personally would piss me off a bit when it comes to tuning and tyres.

                    Fiat worse than death...

Seriously though - they are a nice subtle/different machine. Great sound and quick in the dry. Personally I'd hate the FWD torque steer and forget about in the wet.

Beautiful looking car and very well balanced, but having worked on one-------most jobs are a Mo Fo, i done a timing belt on one, and found that all the engine's bolts, nuts, fixtures and fittings were poor quality and break easily. If you do do work o it replace all of the above with propper fixings. My mates was a minter, it never had any engine troubles at all, but the rest of the bits let it down, headlights collapsed,(350 quid 2nd hand each), bonnet cable snapped, and lots of niggly electrical faults.
My Bro had a Marea 2.0 5cyl 20V which ran for ever (160K is forever in a FIAT) without major mecanical problems, just once again the niggly electrics were a pain.

Great car , hand built and very tunable.
I work with a girl who has one running about 480bhp reliably. And it is Fiats version of noggy blue.

5 pot is actually pretty reliable compared to other Fiat/Alfa lumps. Not much goes wrong with them really.

Maintenance can be an issue, such as changing the cambelts. Most places will want to take the engine out but some skilled guys can do it in situe.

I will be getting one within the next 2 years.

lets see if it stands up to the abuse like his 20v's did

Visit the Fiat Coupe owners club, they suffer from high bore wear in very low mileage and also drink oil like no tomorrow.

Both my friends car were burning about a litre of oil every 2 weeks, this is not uncommon on cars approaching 60k or over miles.

Also the turbo's are weak, it maybe a 5 pot but it's not an Audi I5

All cars have there problems ,but the main problem with this particular car is that my son owns it.
