What is up with ebay....

What have they done to the search function
It was fine before and now they have messed it up.

For example if you searched for "Audi S2" before they changed it there was normally 3 - 5 pages of results and both the words Audi and S2 were in the title.

Now when you search for it you get about 15 pages mostly of rubbish that is not Audi or S2 related.

Even if you set the advanced search to "All of these words" it comes up with loads of rubbish.
The only way to get round this is to set the advanced options to "Exact match only". Then it filters out everything that doesn't have Audi and S2 in the title.

If it a'int broken then don't fix it!!

why what have they changed? i cant see any difference.I have noticed in the past that they seem to tinker for the sake of it which usually was for the worst,luckily there is/was a way of changing back to the original ebay format through your preferences not sure if that will fix your problem though.

Yeah Bo, I was thinking the same.....glad its not just me who is affected Now get Lotus S2, porsche 944 S2, Escort S2 etc etc etc, its Sh**e

You can change it back, but not for long. Ebay know best you see

Yeah i have just played around with the settings a bit. Its almost back to how it was now.

The main thing was the search settings but that just needed changing as mentioned above.
The layout is a bit diffrent too now.
As long as they dont put there prices up it will be ok

Its mostly in mozilla firefox imo, thats why if you use i.e. it works fine, its annoying on my machine tho as it don't like two different browsers open at once, think its time to upgrade it.

Exact phrase will rule out items like 'Audi Coupe S2' or 'Audi 2.2 S2' when searching for Audi S2, If you select Exact match only instead you also get items that are not titled 'Audi S2' but contain both these words.

Each to their own, using the exact match weeds out all the audibits type sellers who put S2 on the end of any auction.

I think ebay.de was like this a while back. Basically you have to search all of the motors section. Type in Audi S2 and you get Escort and Elise bits as well. Think its back to normal now and you can search the category raher than the whole lot.

Seems the quick way now is to put what your searching for in speech marks "audi s2"
