My mate spotted this, and likes the look of it.
What are the experts take on the claims in this advert regarding spec, power, mods, etc.
34psi? S1 turbo?
Wouldnt it also need intercooler, rods, turbo, exhaust manifold?
If i bought that the first thing id do is rip that RS2 badge of the grill, Twin badges that's a first.
Apart from that it looks like a lot of car for your money. And 2.2bar is not exactly slow
I'd also be surprised if the st3 kit didn't include new rods and IC. You'd think that the stock ones would struggle to stay straight with that much boost.
Also seams quite down on power for such a big boost claim.
Depends on the turbo, if it is some crazy K27/28/29 hybrid then yeah it should be able to do that much boost and the OEM hoses should be ok too as long as they are in good condition.
Edit. Are you sure you dont mean 1.4bar on overboost. 2.4 would be savage and not possible with your 270bhp i think.
If mapped correctly it shouldn't bend rods with that power. It's torque that does for the rods and I suspect that the "MTM Racing" turbo is too big to create much low down torque. I would also guess that if the boost claims are correct, it may be to compensate for high charge air temps due to the crappy standard intercooler. That's why the estmated power is low considering the amount of boost!
I would also add that those power levels are capable with a good RS2 setup, plus you'll have masses of torque and probably a spare £8k in your pocket judging by those crazy QST prices!!
'93 S4 Avant now back on the road complete with new shiny go faster bits.

Only selling as i live in the new forest and shes too quick for the forest roads i have had quattro turbos in the past s2s and they dont even come close in performance
How the hell does it run that much power then without bending them
The answer here is one coil per cylinder.
The actual rod bending problem lies within the 3B spark distributor system (spark hop), not the actual rods.
There's quite a few ABY/AAN/ADU going around here in Scandinavia with 380-500HP without the change of rods.
No problems.
