So if this has got through, what's to stop them putting an even higher charge on all cars registered before 2001 on the grounds that they are even more polluting? Watch this space...

This country is in freefall, with a lunatic government unchallenged by a submissive/indifferent populace.

Do you really think a new govornment will stop this? A govornment is there to concieve new ways of gathering TAX, not abolish old ones which work. With only a few exceptions (Poll Tax).

A lot of people dont want to say anything as they are all on govornment handouts or can't speak English. For every 3 people working there is one claiming benefits. That number is changing rapidly towards 2:1--Someones got to support them. Where else can the cash come from?---V for Vendetta wasn't a bad film was it.

Is it any better if you're upside down?

Yes to be honest, quite a bit, some things are more expensive (Bread, Fruit, Veg, Road tax) But overall i'm a lot better off for the move. <10% Unemployment and getting lower everyday, with the introduction of Adult Apprenticeships, where i have had apprentices who are over 40 yr old coming through. The big benefit of this is adult apprentices have done the hard yards, they have had the cr@ppy labouring job shoveling ***** just to make ends meet, and being offered a chance of a quality trade (with no wage drop in their apprenticeship years then a huge wage increase after their apprenticeship) grab it with both hands and Teeth to make it work. Australia says it is officially free of any debt as of last year, the govornment is in the black, plenty of extra cash for the dwindeling bludgers, and they are making it harder for them to get the cash. Instead offering apprenticeships and the likes.
We defend our borders heavily and Illegals are sent packing, and processed offshore--not put into a five star hotel while we decide what to do, the ones who do make it are caught (Some of the time) and kept in a camp in the middle of nowhere 200 miles from the nearest town across a desert, where they are processed and the majority sent back home.

I am patriotic about the UK it will always be home, but with my friends and family also making the move i cant see me going back for a while.
Oh and at $1:50/litre, my car is cheap to run. Spares are a bit of a pain though.

Interesting that the tories are talking out about it rather than quietly letting it pass... theyll get in next time so there reasons for shouting could be genuine!

                Can anyone move?
