    Porsche key chain...

Is a porsche key chain too posh for an RS2 owner to have?

I recently bought one for fun and have it as practically all the car screams 'porsche' everywhere and i got into a talk with a friend saying that i dont have a porsche,i have an audi.
Well yes i know, but it is not like those people that have a fiat and get a ferrari badge on it,or i own a ford fiesta and my long lust is to own a porsche,so i go get the bag,the key chain, the wallet, the glasses, the shirt/tie/shoes etc to go show for it!!!In the end of the day, even audi doesnt want this RS2 model in their museum!!!

He thought i was falling into that category so we got into an argument about it.HOwever this comes from a person that owns an Audi A4 almost stripped to become a track car, that has tons of decals and stickers of every tuning equipment that has bought for it(without doing it for advertising purposes),comes from a person who asked me for nurburgring decals without ever being there(!!) and a person that would want the top of the market clothes/watch/shoes on him as fashion dictates.

Should i worry about becoming one of those people...?Should i quickly throw away this stupid key chain and get a proper....rs2 one....sorry audi one?

    Should i be bothered????

Yeah, use it if you want. It's up to you mate.
Porsche had a big hand in the RS2, it was assembled (mostly) in their factory and it's their tuning that makes the car what it is.
Audi/Porsche, both apply to the RS2

...and it is not only enginewise,it is all over the car that porsche did her thing..
I keep thinking...When someone goes to MTM,or ABT or MRC or Dahlback, and get their car tuned, don't they feel nice when they give them the little badge to put on?The RS2 is an Audi car 'tuned' by porsche IMHO.They give you the car's log book that says porsche on,not audi or 4rings.So who knows, back then you could be given a porsche keychain for all i know !! haha

It is just some people's way of one dimentional thinking...

Attach some Audi rings on the flip-side, that'll settle it...

Got a picture of the key ring you got?

Also is it true that your car on the log book is a porsche?

Litterally speaking the RS2 it's not a Porsche and........ it's not an Audi.....(at least not 100%)
On legal paper (log book in England?) of the car at least in Italy the car Brand it's listed as: Audi Porsche arge
The word "arge" states a real jointventure between the two Makes.
Use that keychain........... i think that someone who ownes and cares for an RS2 had earned the right to use it......

I manage to put a copy of my car book here, have a look at D1 position that states the Brand of the vehicle.

                    Stefano

                    P.S.
I remember the story of a guy that had wheels caps from Porsche on the right side and Audi caps on the left side on his RS2
Asking him why the answer was..... well it's an AudiPorsche is'nt it?

                      Stefano, you made my day!

Honestly im not that bugged by the idea, except the fact that i concidered that person a good friend.I posted this topic to see how other people feel with that idea, and also to actually say that those almost 2600 RS2 owners and all those with RS2 conversions etc, they dont really belong anywhere, neither audi nor porsche,so my guess was always to use whatever feels nicer!

Besides i am an audi enthusiast, i know!,but i will never be one of those people that believe its a sacriledge to misuse Audi or Porsche's name on something that it is not trully that. The fact is that you cannot really say that for the RS2,cause as you mentioned it is an 'arge'.not a clear audi, nor a clear porsche, although we buy most parts from audi and less from porsche.

As i mentioned before,it makes more sense to me that Audi here is the 'builder' and Porsche is the 'Tuner',and for that i can use whatever i feel like it,and i definitelly dont need someone who has stickers on his car of every tuning company used to modify it....EVEN IF HE HASNT BOUGHT THE STUFF YET FOR IT!!!!.....

gossip... just realized that i helped him find 034 motorsport to tune his A4 quattro (1.8T) and he already has 034 stickers on,but hasnt bought anything other from them yet....stickers only! oh well...

                        Vas.....
To be honest with you all that PorscheAudi/AudiPorsche/ talking over

It's making my/our game at the end of the day......

RS2 it's still a unique piece of vehicle i don't believe that more then 2000/2500 are still road running so it's a job for the future collectors to find out if in the end it's worthing to call it whatever they want to call it and if it was wise to keep it....... my guess is:
                        I'll keep it!

I got one with the car from the previous owner.
And my log book does say Audi/Porsche.
