Just had a play with Cerbera, GT-R & Scooby

Just had a fantastic last hour, left the bird at home and went to get some Super 99.

On the way back, engine nice and warm had a play with a white cerbera as he entered the by-pass both nailed it and i was really surprised how he didnt really pull away, black smoke on the gear changes and all. He bottled it on the roundabout and we went are different ways.

Shortly after, had a blue scooby with a Nurburgring sticker and it was a similar thing, tbh tho he did have the edge but he bottled it about 120. I backed off as well as its rude to rip past then, and we both did a few side by sides, trouble is with my lag he was just nudging it again. Both pulled over in lay-by on A38 and he was amazed how even we were. He was pushing about 330bhp and though it was the fastest thing on the planet. His first words when he got out were "sh*t, what you running in there?"...funny...

As I was right in the mood now, went and did a few more bypasses and a few roundabouts over near a trading estate, next thing i know, I new grey Nissan GT-R has to brake quite sharp at one of the junctions to the roundabout i was just going round. Next thing i know he's given it the beans but kept a healthy distance from my bumper. "shall i or shant i I thought, aaghh balls, what the hell" gave it a bit more but not silly amounts on the shortish stretch we had left, he just kept the same gap. I then arrived at a nice empty roundabout, tickled it round then gave it the berrys on to a fast down sweeper on the bypass, again, fair play, he didnt get up my bumper he just kept that gap. when we hit the actual 2 lane bypass tho...sh*t, that thing just flew..

Obviously not officially launched over here yet and it had the square plate at the rear(no doubt a lichfield car) but gotta respect that Nissan.. I WANT ONE!...(did i just say that..)

I would avoid the fuzz - they frown on such activities

I've had the RS4 for almost a week now, and not yet come across anything even remotely close to being able to have a go.

A strangely liberating experience, it's a long time since I've been content to smugly cruise at a steady 80mph all the way from Sheffield to Leeds as I did last night. (Cruise control helps!)

I think I'm turning into an old man!

Always good to get a good blast with some interesting/different cars.

Sounds like fun. When i travel down south there is always someone having a go. Usually the borders.

Guys, you're not gonna believe this, I SWEAR TO GOD its the truth tho...

When i left to go home last night, the light was dusky and certainly getting darker. Drove down the lane, onto A38 then hit the A40 northern bypass (with the Parklands Audi dealership for those who know Gloucester), gave it the berrys but not stupidly up to about a steady 110ish, windows down..no problem. THEN, before i know it, see a fast approcking set of Xenons in the mirror. First impressions were "ohh great, its the fuzz", but then made out it was black and had flatter pan lights (not your usual Accord, 5 series or unmarked Octavia you get round here).

Fek it, popped it down one and she whoosed into life again, at this point fast approching a slight r/hander sweeper on the bypass (prob about a 125mph'er). Again, the said car was keeping the same gap and I really was "hoping" it wasnt a pig.

Slowing down for the big roundabout in r/hand lane and he left the braking quite late and stuck in the inside. At this point i could now make out now it was a blue or black 996 and clearly up for it. MINT..i thought, i could turn right now and go home or go straight over to another bypass, needless to say...went straight over. Its a bit of a left handed getting onto the bypass of which i was on the limit big time, Pilot sports squeeling like a pig. Opened her right up coming out through second & third...next thing...WHOOSH...he comes belting past...it was a bloody x50 996 turbo wasnt it. still, i gave chase to next roundabout, both got slowed down by another car, short bypass, then another sweeping roundabout onto a flat-out dual carrigeway if need be.

From 3rd gear onwards he left me big time, we got to silly speeds then both backed off to what seemed like walking pace (in reality was still over national limit tho). I caught him up in left hand filter lane, glanced across, altho it was getting dark now, both still acknowledged the thumbs, nod and cheeky grin then went our seperate ways. (I say seperate ways, i turned around to come home with less petrol than I originally went out with in the first place)

To top it all off was greeted with a nice glass of wine & Apocalypse now was on the telly later on. What a mint evening..

I wish my trip to Gloucester was a bit more eventful! Ended up sitting in a traffic jam on the bypass next to the shell garage for about 45 minutes!

Yeah, big time daytime roadworks (new bus lane) further up the A40 im afraid. It was exactly where you mention i was finishing off with the Scooby and on the other side with the 911. AVOID late afternoons & mornings..
