    Sounds like an awesome trip

The Col de la Forclaz from Martigny back into France is a good road, some open sections to get the pedal down and nice tight twistys too brings you back into Chamonix....which is a great place to spend a night stop in the summer

Depending on time you can go through the Mont Blanc tunnel (exhaust would sound cool in there as cars are deliberately spaced out)...pop out in Italy, drive up the Petit St Bernard pass, drops u back into La Rosiere (Fra), you can then drive over the Cormet du Roseland (awesome views and road), Col des Saisies twisty but fast and back via Megeve and St Gervais to Chamonix. A good day out and in the sun some stunning views. Shame i have only done it in the A6

          Very Jealous !

Looking forward to your tips, photos, and any stories, go for it and enjoy.

You'd be off your head to skip Tots.

Keen to know if he'll ship to England or Ireland?

          Thanks and enjoy the spin.

          Kind regards.

Got back from this road trip monday at 6am.

It was an amazing journey, We covered a lot of ground and clocked around 2500miles. The route we took looks a little something like this :
            map.jpg

We shared the driving so were able to do some 18+ hour days

Quick splash and dash in france:

Next stop was the ring for a spot of lunch before getting in some lap action:

The day we arrived the track was only open for a couple of hours in the evening.

There was a BMW driver training day on track while we arrived and i counted over 40 identical M3's in the main car park alone

We then made our way down to the carousel and watched the endless line of BM's flying past..
(i do have vids but they are all to big for uploading to the forum)

After a lap of the ring in the RS2 we made our way up to Adenauer Forst for some more track action and then a spot of camping after visiting the beer shop for some German goodies
              IMG_1157s.jpg
              IMG_1178s.jpg
Sleeping only about 30 meters from the track I work up to the sound of a Porsche GT2 Turbo on full chat. That's a good noise to wake up to

We then packed up the tent and spend 3 or 4 hours at the track viewing some action.

At lunch time we left and made our way down Germany towards Austria and Switzerland. We stopped at a lake on route where i went for a dip and did a splash of bird watching (top left corner)

After a short rest we drove on through Austria and then in to Switzerland where we stopped off at Tots place.
                IMG_1200s.jpg

Unfortunately he wasn't there so we carried on through the alps! some amazing roads there

We were originally planning to stay the night there but couldn't find any where suitable to set up camp so carried on in to Italy and finally arrived in Bibbiena at around 4am the next morning..

After a bit of a rest we got up and had a look around. The view was staggering!
                IMG_1206s.jpg

We then took a jeap and drove higher up in to the mountains to look at some land that arums dad had bought. By this time temperatures were soaring up towards 40c!!

The house and land need a fair bit of work but im hopefully going to spend some time in a couple of years to help get this place running again.

The veiw from the top of the land showing the house and the grounds.

                  IMG_1220s.jpg

Next we headed back down to Bibbiena and stopped at a river for a swim to try and cool off a touch.

                  IMG_1225s.jpg
We then spend another night there and headed back up Italy towards Bordeaux in France the next day.

We arrived at our location sometime after lunch the day after and spent the next two weeks lazing around in the sun!!! caring for the yoga students (mainly girls in there mid twenties) that were there on a retreat.... It really was hard work

All in all it was an amazing trip, the RS2 performed very very well and we both had a lot of fun driving it, especially through the very long tunnels and across the Italian mountain roads...

Im planning on doing the whole thing again sometime in the future but dont know when yet...

We spent about 800 quid on fuel and toll charges and it was worth every penny!

                      Nope its still going strong.

We made a point of only buying Vpower where available, that varied quite a lot over the countries and was cheapest in Austria at under 1,20euro /l

                      England: 99ron
                      France: 98ron
                      Germany: 100ron
                      Austria: 100ron
                      Italy: 99ron
                      Belguim: 99ron
didnt try the swiss stuff as i didnt realize they were not part of the Euro so the 2,20 - 2,50 price tags on the fuel put us off a bit. (little did i know that was the price in swiss franks.)

All in all the 100ron was the strongest giving boost levels of 1.5bar in 2nd and up to 1.6 in other gears...

Sweet Tesco 99 is the stuff over here. Tried and tested on teh rollers in mine so I try and stick to it, the car runs better than on anything else. Esso is second, V Power third and then the rest.

Hi Guys. Sorry to open an old thread but only just seen this. It was me who went on this trip with Bo. It was an awesome trip, we have wanted to do this for years so it was good to finally do it and the RS2 was a brilliant car to do it in.

The car was brilliant on the windy mountain roads. When we arrived at our destination in Italy, coming off the motorway into the twisty mountain bits for the last 20 miles or so it was already well past midnight. Bo was driving and I had the laptop with autoroute and a GPS link on my lap - I was basically co-driving for bo and telling him which way the next hairpin was going, lol! Bo and the RS2 loved it and he was able to really go for it with the advanced warnings
