I fill my boot with tools and then make the passengers sit with the luggage on top of them leave all of it in the Hotel room, I'm sure they love it

I have done a few DIY fixes in the hotel car park before but there are garages around and even a BMW breakers that helped a mate out, I guess there must be a VAG place like that too, there's a VAG garage in Adenau.

Every single time i go to the ring SOMEBODY brakes something. At easter it was a handbrake cable and a starter motor *AHEM*

There are plenty of scrappy's around, but they don't speak Der Englische

It involves so awfully risque hand actions and some clicking noises followed by scribing the shape of the cable in the air in the air

I have been looking into gps logging of the trip, not so much for lap times or anything, but more to see where we have been in the week. I found a couple of nice apps.

One is TripMaster for TomTom. http://www.webazar.org/tomtom/tripmaster.php?lang=uk
                  It looks fairly impressive!

The other is GooPs http://goopstechnologies.com/ It works with google earth on your laptop (windows only ). It is pretty impressive though, lets you track multiple vehicles

Anyone used them or anything similar?

you justneed to respect the ring, build up slowly, and whatever you do, dont go out in semi-slicks in the rain.......four brit fto drivers...all with r888, starts raining 'oh but they still have tread..it'll be fine' 2 out of 4 were scattered around the armco on the first lap! dont let me put you off tho, like i said, respect what it is and you'll have a great time.

same as above also.....bring tools! and brake fluid, i boil mine every year lol time for an upgrade me-thinks.....you'd also be surprised how many coupes there are out there, i managed to find a spare indiator whensome pikey half inched my drivers clear one.

Well, ring trip is now over I met up with Johnny briefly who has bought Dest's avant, but he didnt have it with him.

I had an awesome time there. I did a load of work on the S2 just before i left, which was maybe not the best time to do it! I put on the Big Reds I got from Raymor's avant along with the S8s The Big reda were a right PITA - I decided to fit the the correct rotation therefore having to swap the bleed nipples and the hard lines out, that was fun! I got it homefried but it seems not much quicker? It did develop a really good missfire on the way down to Newcastle on WOT! Tured out to be a combination of plug gaps and one being slightly loose so I bought a new set in a VW place near the ring - they were 80 Euros! I nearly died! I normally pay £1.70 each or so! Oh well

Anyway, got it sorted and on the ring which was WAAY more fun that being a passenger, i HATED that even in my mates cars! I only did a few laps but I managed to overtake a few cars and bikes on each lap I can't wait to go back!

Sounds like you had fun, the 'ring always shows up the little flaws that you either know about and ignored or never new existed! It detected that I had different length wheel bolts FFS!

Plugs are supposed to be about £7 each for the Platinum tipped correct S2 ones, F5DPOR? Anything lower heat rating will die quickly.

Andy is correct. £1.70 plugs will not work properly in an S2. Its the OEM plugs or nothing.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the trip though.

                            Cheers,

                            Steve.
