    Mobile Broadband...Germany - Europe

In the UK we get mobile broadband usb dongles that give upto nearly 8Mb over a 3G cellular network. Is there a similar thing, pay as you go/prepaid that will work cheaply in europe and if not europe wide (holland/france/italy/germany) then a german only one? Some help to get one would be appreciated

Mainly I want this for goops and google earth when I am away. there are a few of us going so it would be good for those that cant make it to track our progress

    Cheers for any help

you'd probably be better off with a GPS type gadget (though i can't suggest any).

I use those USB dongles on work trips, and they aren't the best in the UK, let along in Europe. Or maybe get a N95 or iPhone, so you can get onto http sites from a mobile??

Yes, you should be easily able to buy wifi minutes, days or weeks from most service providers, literally, fire up the laptop, seek a hotspot, select the bundle you want and get your credit card out. Should easily find hotspots in all the usual locations, chain hotels and independents, resturants, shops etc etc.

      Cheers

sorry, re-read, mobile bb access, try talking to your service provider in the Uk about international setup, probably easy to setup and in those countries a UK service provider should have a roaming data agreement...

I have TomTom with Tripmaster but GooPs allows you to track multiple cars and upload the data directly to the web so the folks back home can see exactly where we are in real time, therefore I need mobile broadband not wifi or a phone, i would use my iPhone but apple removed the data share program from the app store.

I know the UK providers allow me to use their mobile broadband abroad, but they want £10 a day for 15MB usage, so ideally a german one would be better...

Since the iPhone has been mentioned above, take a look at this, the video is typical american but the app is amazing! http://videos.streetfire.net/video/i...Ref=Newsletter
