    End of an era

It is with very mixed feelings that James picks up my S2 this evening!
Part of me feels Im doing the wrong thing, and part of me is looking forward to getting the car Ive wanted for about 8 years.

Its been an interesting ownership to say the least... it arrived home with boost leaks, various other problems and bits that needed sorting, and what I didnt know at the time, crap paint! (Thanks Steve for educating me in the world of looking after paintwork properly)
Alot of hours, bloody, sweat, tears, and money have been spent transforming the car.
I wont bother listing it all, as a picture says a thousand words, so here are 4 photos, 2 from the day I got it, and 2 just after I washed it this morning ready for James to collect.

Id love to thank everyone that has helped me, on and off the forum that have helped me get the car to how it currently looks and drives

So, onwards and upwards as they say!
Tomorrow I pick up the new S4, a silver saloon.
Then it can all start again
Initial plans are suspension (just want it lowered abit), Milltek, MRC remap, RS4 brakes, and I have my RS4 wheels to go on too.
Eventually I would love to get some K04's and other relivant bits to get it running 400bhp or so.

This is not my car, but a rough photoshop of what I aim to end up with:

I am still aiming to post and visit here, can stick up some pics of the S4 if anyone is interested... and will still be coming to Billing to have a laugh and meet some more faces (if Im welcome after defecting )

Nice one matey, with the performance car market on its **** at the moment, its never been a better time to buy. we bought a 2001 996 recenty for £12k (admittedly it needs a new engine!)

Was it that silver B5 saloon on RS246 btw? i know that chap dropped it a couple of grand for a quick sale, looks nice?

Yeah I think it is on there.
He seems to think he made a bad move, as quite afew people told him he had under priced it!
It needs a couple of bits sorting, but they are all minor.
He said if I hadnt of bought it, they would all be sorted and the price would be up a grand or two (which its definitly worth no question), so a proper bargain has been had
As you said, its THE time to be buying cars like this, and a nightmare to sell them

Congrats Dest - welcome to the Bi-club We may not have the 5-pot warble, but there are plenty of advantages!

The 5 pot sound may be gone, :mischeif: but the V6 more than makes up for it!

Nice one Dest. I do have a particular soft spot for the Bi-T S4 myself (like most on here it seems!).
Is the parts situation ok for them?..

Parts are no problem, always tons of bits for sale on the forums, and alot of RS4 bits fit too

I think compared with S2's you're spoilt for choice, even main dealers "might" know the sort of car you're talking about to. I was looking at B5 S4's before i got the S2 but as it wasnt an everydayer i wanted more of an old skool drive.

off topic and talking off old skool- Pete, i see you got a metalheadz logo as avatar, i was with them lot the other friday up at the Custard Factory with the Valve sound system, Doc scott, Dillinga, Goldie etc..was good night!
