    Advice: Aircon (RS2)

    Hi,

We have replaced the pipework on the aircon and regassed it...no leaks and charged up well confirmed by the read out and print out. It works fine for a while and then at lower speeds it starts to struggle, then I start to hear some puffing noises. This is then followed by surges of damp hot air through the vents. If I turn the aircon off I can see puffs of warm air coming through the air vents at the top of the dash and the windscreen mists up in about 10 seconds - even in warm sun shine.

Basically its poor around town, fine on the motorways as long as there are no hold ups.

It's a nightmare! Any help really appreciated.

    Cheers

    Simon

We've checked it and we think its running ok. Not certain but the mechanic thinks its ok. Myself not being mechanically minded but thinking that from the syptoms it seems that when it has to work harder its sending the warmer discharged air back in to the cabin...

          check your running pressures

low side should be bout 30psi high side bout 150 - 250psi

are the cooling fans cutting in at 250psi?

sounds like compressor is failing to me
