i dont really like Fords, BUT.....

....whilst driving home from work last night, an RS200 (or chuffing good copy) drove past me, now that is ONE gorgeous bit of 80's rallying icon
Anyway, started thinking and remembered that you could buy a kit based on a Scooby but what about using the I5 and Quattro drive train?
Could you feasibly put the I5 in the back? how would it work? How bloody mavelous to drive would it be...!!!
Ah well, I'll put it on my "jobs to do when I win the lottery that I never enter" list....

You can get them based on a Maestro of all things too!
The only thing with that one is that the engine is in the front

hmmm, not sure about that one, don't look as good as the real thing and the engine needs to be in the back - so how do you couple up the quattro drive train to an I5 mid engined car??????

Remember the mid engine RWD thread? Like that, but with a transfer case on the back of the gearbox and a long shaft running to the front. That's how I'd do it.

"hmmm, not sure about that one, don't look as good as the real thing"

Strange but true, I actually looked at Paul Banham's kit cars a few years ago and this is the only dimensionally correct RS200 replica Paul actually owns the original body molds from ford. And the only way you can get new panels is either by providing him the chassis number of your original RS200 or by having one of his maestro based kits he won't sell them for any other purpose. The main reason why the kits are based on the maestro is that the wheelbase is the same as the RS200

              Koni adjustable shocks,
              H&R springs,
              18" RS6 reps in anthracite.
              150K and running great
