I used to set mine at 5000 but increased to 6000 miles. My premium renewal came through and my premium has dropped significantly this year - around £780 with all mods declared and £25000 agreed value.
Greenlight have been mentioned several times. I even tried getting a quote from them but they cannot offer agreed value. Most companies will not quote at all as my car is too heavily modified (136bhp standard).
Having said all of this, my car seems to be off the road more than on it these days so any premium is excessive!

Greenlight do agreed value, I have one and it saved me last year, I'm not sure that it's not a capped amount of £10k but you have to speak to them really. Mine's valued at £6k but once the engine is done and the interior, I'll hope to increase that as I'll have spent well over £20k on it over the years and 6k doesn't really cover that...Cheers'en, AndyC

I was insured through 'Flux when I wrote off the coupe, NIG backed the policy.
When I questioned their value of £3200 for the car (mods declared) they told me in their opinion they did not increase the resale value, therefore they would not increase the offer. Plenty of 'proof' later they still wouldn't budge so I took matters into my own hands and took all the modified parts off. Of course, they refused to collect the car, so I questioned as to why they were upset when my mods aparrently didn't increase the value (think it was the lack of engine that really upset them TBH).
After a call from their senior engineer, it was agreed that my 'retaliation' was fair and they took the car, and paid me; they turned down my offer to give them all the standard parts in place of the mods
So - I'll never use them ever again, and they'd probably never isure me again. If I'd never had to claim or had an agreed value I suspect my opinion would be complete different. All I can say is, read the small print as they WILL sell you a policy that isn't quite as you believe. Plenty seem to have success with them.

Yes.
I guess id consider the mileage as a loose figure, there is no way you can estimate a year in advance to within 30 miles how many miles you'll rack up in 12 months.
If they took the "car value" figure you provide into consideration a bit more maybe i'd take the mileage figure a bit more seriously.S2Forum.com AdministratorComment
