Very true - I think it will be a matter of time before we see whether BBC (the only broadcaster offered the rights by Bernie) does a far better job.

I'd agree with most of that Keeper but I would say that the depth and quality of the itv coverage has certainly gone down over the last couple of years - James Allen is definately the biggest of their problems but he is by no means the only one.

Strange that some people still think ITV "lost" the rights to F1 ...no such thing is true, they totally relinquished the rights in favour of football (note to Americans - the game where the ball is actually kicked a lot).

I see a lot of the "bring back Murray" campaign, which I wouldn't actually disagree with ...but how many people realise that MW actually said the ITV coverage is far more in-depth than BBC ever gave? And how many people remember that BBC didn't show live qualification for most of their time covering F1, and not every race got live coverage either?

I'm more concerned that we'll lose coverage of GP2 as well when F1 goes to BBC again. We'll see if they actually give as much as ITV did. Commercial breaks and James Allen aside, I think the independents made a good fist of it.

Don't remember Charlie, from memory Graham was one of the race engineers alongside Chris Dyer who is now at Ferrari

Amazing how the FIA can care so much who holds the microphone for armchair enthusiasts. They really should use that energy elsewhere on the sport for a change. Personally the whole lot should be flushed out, totally corrupt and self-interested and absorbed

Thats interesting, i like the kinda of "insiders" view that Martin brings to the commentry, was also a great balance for the motor mouth that was Murray Walker at the time, certainly Martin is a better commentator than James Allen anyway (boring voice).

Showing even more the politics of the sport....

Nice. They ask your opinion. Show you the video. And do NOT provide any way for you to actually register your opinion. If I was able to give my opinions they would have been:

    1. Hamilton's move on the first corner was a bit desparate and he did over cook it but I don't see where it warranted a penalty of ANY kind. HELLO? It's called R-A-C-I-N-G.

    2. Massa was well off the kerb, on the inside of the corner, comes back on a drives straight into the side of Hamilton. Massa should have been sent to his room without any pudding and not allowed out until he said he was sorry and wouldn't do it again. That would have meant he wouldn't be out until sometime next season.

    3. Bourdais did nothing wrong. The Ferrari turned into him. No penalties and especially no penalty for Bourdais (who must be saying "Excuse me for being on the same track, you stupid Ferrari person".
