check this, its an official South African VW site, selling the new Citi, basically a new version of the classic Golk mk1 but with a few styling tweaks:
my 2 cents
it looks like the old front end of the citi golf we had 7 years ago in South Africa....which is different than the mk2 golf and has a angle on front near headlamps to help it pass smoothly through the air .lol at higher speeds
its good to see the basic shape is still there
i do stand corrected if they have changed production, whilst i been away
but still a great handy little pocket rocket ,with plenty of omphs
Not quite a Gti with 99bhp and at £5000 even for the basic (and very dodgily named) TenaCiti, I reckon you'd struggle to make any money importing them.
To do the job right, you'd have factor in the cost to ship the car here, change the wings, bumpers and lights to the originals, install a new 2.0T FSI , and it would probably be wise to uprate brakes, wheels and suspension.
You would end up with a great little car, but at a wild guess you'd need an asking price of £15k to turn a decent profit.
Would a brand new Mk1 Golf Gti with 200bhp sell for £15k? As Bry said - maybe a 3 door, but not a 5 door.
Got me thinking now though...
Nothing feels fast for long...

When you see one it doesn't look like a mk1. these have been around for a few years now. there have been so many panels pressed out of the mk1 rigs that they have worn and changed shape hence the differences.
