Odd! insurance more on my V6 than the S2

Insurance time again so been squeezing Admiral down over the last few weeks. Got a Multicar policy on the Coupe's, (same re-newal date etc) but the V6 is coming out slightly more than the S2 (inc named mods)

Initally came out with £759.72 for the both fully comp but several calls later managed to get down to £527.68

    S2 - £252.40
    V6 - £275.28

Both cars almost same year, near idential mileage etc - Im just surprised the v6 was more than a modded S2!! i really dont understand insurance..

Good ol' S2 does it again! Perhaps it's where the majority of the discount is applied or something. Still, you're paying for 2 what I'm paying for 1 although I've got agreed value and track cover...

Did you insure the S2 first then by the V6? As Andy rightly states, perhaps the NCD is being applied to the S2 first....?

Admiral don't even entertain agreed value or track cover, but yeah, its worth having for sure.

Ahhh, this is true, altho i only started the multicar with Admiral this time last year (and been running the V6 for years before that with Fluxy), i carried the NCB from my M5 over to the S2 to get max discount tho.

I went from a gp17 V6 Coupe to a gp18 S2 and my insurance also went down, but not by a lot.

Maybe since less S2's were built than the NA's or V6's, less have been crashed and so it does not get a multiplier added

@Pete - Jesus, I'm much older than you and paying £50 a year more than you with a clean licence and donkey's years of NCB! Who the hell are you insured with?

                      Cheers n

My S2 with all mods declared is £485 TPFT, yet the Type 85 90Q I just bought is £592 totally standard and worth a lot less. Work that out!!

Its because you see more type 85's on the road than you see s2's. The s2 is more rarer as they have either been broken, or are being upgraded off the road so there are less "actually" on the road.
