PH's heroes - RS2

Just skimmed it - looks like a nice article... Always amazes me how much the RS2 is likes in factory trim despite the awful lag... That push in the back must be worth waiting for
Equally amazing how a pure software upgrade transforms the cars behaviour with a lot less lag and wider/taller torque profile. Nice to see the RS2 recognised in an independent forum like that... The S2 is much more of a sleeper as we know though - its the heroes daddy - and the UR is the grandaddy I spose

Good read...thanks for sharing the link.Yeah Bespoke tyres were made for those Porsche Cup alloys (which have a slightly different diameter hole in the middle)
The wheels are the same as the fronts off a 911 (965)...correct?..........or is the "slightly different diameter hole" the article refers to on the special SP8000 tires?

i think it refers to the hib diameter of the wheel which is instead of 71mm which is in porsches,it is 73,1mm.I know cause Peter Omrod who sold me the veloce wheels told me as he has done the modification before for porsche wheels to be fitted on the rs2Comment

Brilliant article, and yes, much better than that EVO article, which as much as I rate the magazine, was way off the mark.
It is nice to think our remapped S2's are knocking on the door of standard RS2 performance, mine is at 280 bhp and 300ftlbs, so not far off a 0-60 of 4-8 seconds
@ Tom. Yes, yours is looking very very nice these days.

If you're talking about the review below then believe it or not it's Jeremy's car, i.e. the same one in the PH review.Brilliant article, and yes, much better than that EVO article, which as much as I rate the magazine, was way off the mark.

Yes Rob, I am. I rate EVO, but can't help thinking they are missing something there, especially as its the SAME car...
Different perspectives perhaps...

Yeah I agree with you.
Also it seems quite apparent that some japcar enthusiasts take offense to the fact that the RS2 completely over shadowed the Legacy of the same era as 'the' fast estate to have.
I don't know...I guess it depends on where your allegiance lies but I can say that PH/Haymarket are very neutral and will review a car as it is which is nice.
