the thing is with these is that its mostly companys trying to look good rather than actually do good.....at the moment most of our power comes from natural gas or oil power stations with the coal being phazed out, nuclear having major problems with the law ect and not many people really wanting to spend money on renewable energy sourses things aren't going to change any time soon, as for crude oil that wont start running out till way past our lifetime so the only thing stopping its use is the environment, these electric cars really arent helping much....yes power stations are more efficient and evironmentally clean than cars but the transmission of that power loses at least 7% then there are the construction costs, not as far as cash although that is stupid too, but creating these batteries costs the environment and the motors on the cars aren't efficient either. overall your not really saving much if at all in terms of oil use and environment. in my eyes the only way to stop using crude oil is in the power stations, there really is nothing wrong with nuclear, with todays safety features.

bottom line if you want to save the world run your home on renewable/nuclear and your car on good o'l petrol
