I thought it was total crap, that Gallardo/GT2 shoot was a joke, even the audience are school kidz nowadays. I can't believe they stretched that lorry feature for most of the show as well, dissapointing first episode. Hope it gets better, i could have been out an hour earlier!!

i'm still gobsmacked at the depreciation they were talking about. aston martins halving in a year? oooooh!!

I thought wrecking the drums and piano was just stupid though. I had rant a while ago about the comic relief bit they did in steve redgrave's garden but i still find myself watching for the odd bits of car info they squeeze in between their egos

Bargain supercar of the mo is def the 996tt, still £30k but def the most reliable bullet-proof of cars. Big engined Mercs have always depreciated like hell, i've always fancied an old skool SL cab myself

I thought poor Clarkson was having a heart attack when he drove that lorry into a brick wall!! Tall men should not strain themselves to that extent!!

I LOVE TopGear, the wit, the foolishness, the not-so-serious-yet-still-totally-geeky-about-cars look on motoring is fab!! Just a shame there's a 2 year waiting list to be in the live audience...!

Tad annoyed they aired it on the same time as Strictly Come Dancing though...no competition there. Sorry Ross.

Currently they aren't adding to the waiting list, which is 2-3 years. If you can blag tickets, give me a shout!

Couldn't mount a challenge for this episode of TG... guess I just hope the re-run doesn't conflict with desperate housewives or I could get a tv recorder :mischeif:

Entertaining but they're starting to stray from the real cars now.. They probably don't even know where to find / what a spark plug is ..

Clarkson has always admitted he knows very little about what actually happens under the hood. Still love the program though, need more good comedies on telly..
Just read some people have taken his truck driving comments about prostitutes too seriously and complained to the BBC etc. Should know by now to take Jez's comments with a lot of humour, a roll of the eyes and a pinch of salt.

Ok its "only" a CL500, but its £13k, so they are out there.

I thought the first episode was amusing but its a long way away from how it used to be. Times change I guess, the masses got bored with the "proper" Top Gear".

They did indeed and that is why it had to die. Look at the current alternative...Fifth Gear....Jesus what a dull and pointless program that is...even the strangely attractive VBH is just a pain in the butt now.

Do a straw pole at work tomorrow. Most men watch it and ALL their wives do too (although for some of them it is just because the fancy the hamster )

As has already been said, take the new TG with a pinch of salt because if you find yourself complaining about it, you are well on your way to wearing M&S cardigans....and that is only 1 step away from propping up the daisies

                              Cheers n
