    Which filler rods for anodising??

On the off chance does anyone know which filler rods i can use for welding aluminium, then later anodising the part.

And does anyone know what happens when a part is anodised and incompatable rods have been used.

I'm assuming the welds just dont anodise

    Hey Gnuzt2
All aluminum will get anodized but the strength of the weld and color will vary depending on the filler rod you use. Here is a helpfull chart that will answer your question. sorry tfor the poor quality , if it's not clear let me know i will rescan it and send it back. Take a look where the word example is on how to chose the correct filler rod type.I hope the file went through if not will try again.
    cheers

AlMG5 takes colour fine in anodizing.

e: Problems start, when first anoziding, and then welding.

Yep I checked with my ex fabricator colleague and 5% Mag is the way to go. AlMg5 sounds right to me!

I bet you were gutted when you had to weld an extra pickup on that dry sump

I dont think i've used those rods but i'll do a check and a small test before i try any bigger parts .
