Leather Interior help please (front Seats)

can anyone help please, Is the aby interior different to the older s2?? When trying to fit it , the lever for locking the seat into position is on the otherside and to change this there is no bracket! How hard is it to change the frames over from my aby seats to the other ones to gain the lug or bracket required. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

The short answer is that you'll need to swap the metal bases over and exchange the covers and foam bases.
I replied to a pm Steve sent me about this detailing what you need to do. Maybe he could forward you my reply?

This can easly be got a round by using the handle from the drivers side on the passengers side and the passengers side handle on the drivers side. All you need to do then is weld another eye for the handle onto the seat base main bar. The holes for the front lever mount should be on the base frame all you need to do is swap this over.

Fair point, I made the new eyes and then got a mate to weld them on, took him 5 about five minutes.

You can get the new eyes off some of the bases as they just unscrew. If you really wanted to you could drill the two small holes and screw the bit on.

Unfortunately, both sets were welded on the seats I have so I didn't have that option.

Not good, i'm still to decide what route i'll go down when I switch the handles over. Probably drill/screw method as some of the bases come from the factory like that and doubt there is anything really that will be weakened by two small holes as audi would have done it differently if there was.

                          thanks

I made new brckets yesterday and was going to bolt on the brackets once i had g clamped and tested the seat in situ, bolting is not an option as the tube you would bolt to has a tube within a tube which allows the seat to move up and down like a swivelling action. I will weld two new brackets, as the foam on the other base has had it and it would not be viable to use. I appreciate all the help lads wish me luck, i am going to attemp to fit 3B seats in a ABY yipppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
