How many s2's/rs2's are still running and on the road legally?

mines been off the road for 5 months now
The brake upgarde has developed into full service, full suspension strip down, re-painting of wheel arches, trans+diff oil replacement, cv joint replacement, total rebuild of donor RS2 calipers, new rear calipers +discs, attention to rust on bonnet, rear door and boot lid, and probably more as I unearth bits....
I do love it, but have never had a car that has needed so much attention, and money thrown at it!

Mine is my Daily and gets a thrashing everyday. Still going, not an S2 though

Any mod's or admin able to mod the poll as this was for just s2/rs2 cars, sorry to all those with 20v's etc.

daily driver, 40k miles over the last 5 years

Over 6k a year, just.
Weekend car, long trips, holidays. Hate using it in the stop start stuff.
Will be with me until parts run dry.
Knowing Audi, a year or two then
Does everything I want from a car on public road.

drove my 90 everyday for 5 months put 4k on her in that time dont know how never went anywere far...

driven a focus tdi now as im doing fair few miles more but the 90 packed in when i needed to do the miles so had get different car

I think you are thinking of the one about how many rs2 are left. My s2 is still on the road being used on a weekly basiss . Must be doing more than 6k miles a year and probably about that in v power too

Mine is fully road legal but sits in my garage for much of the year. I spend a lot of my time working outside the UK but drive the S2 almost every day when I am home. I have only clocked up around 10K or 12K miles in my 5 years of ownership. I think its a real shame and have been thinking about selling it on to someone who will get the use out of it but its a heart wrenching choice.

Mine is a superb daily drive, love it even for short journey to work. (Take the wife's old Golf TDi on boring long motorway journeys, and the S2 on interesting cross-country runs.)

I've ticked the YES box, but have actaully done about 8k in my two years ownership.

I love the car to bits, but am scared of every little rumble, clack and chunter she makes (rather like the wife then!)

If you ignore this year, where the car has covered about 1k due to unforseen circumstances then yes, it's still running and doing 6k a year.

Yes it runs perfectly, but as Pete says, probably less than 6K a year now, I think I have done about 4.5k miles in the last 12 months.

IMO, there is no way you can keep a car mint using it everyday. I don't park it in public car parks, it does not sit outside in the rain and I try not to use it on the salty roads in the winter. In fact washed and waxed it last night and mentally put it away for the winter. I can't seem myself getting it out now until Feb / March 2009...

I figure the more cars are used in the winter months, the more likely you are to have someone crash into you too....

I know my style of car use is not to everyone's taste, but I like it and it does stay looking rather nice, if I do say so myself!

I have not voted as neither options apply to me!

I know of quite a few people like that who park up concours cosworths for the winter with space heaters or put the car in bubbles/carcoons with the car up on axle stands and the wheels off the car so its understandable.

The winter weather just kills the underneath of any car tbh, which is one reason i'm partially glad I won't be driving mine over the winter or my coupe gt5s (that hasn't seen winter for the last 6 yrs and hasn't done more that 600miles in that time, clocking up just 3miles since the last mot)
