    What on earth....

Has happened to the prices of S2's over the last 12 months??

I was looking to buy one about 24 months ago with about 4.5k to spend. I was look at either 100k miles early car, or a high mileage late car, both standard cars. But now the price has come down so much, a good average mileage car, with some tasteful mods (porsche brakes, tweeked engine) is about the same price

I ended up buying a VW Corrado G60 2 years ago, which promptly blew up 300 miles down the road, and has now cost me about 8-9k (including buying the car for 4.5).

Are prices likely to fall much more? there can't be too many S2's around the UK now, so surely they are due a price boost??

Now has got to be the time to buy an S2, I purchased mine a year ago now and if I'd waited till now I could have saved myself at least £500 on a car of similar spec and condition

When I got mine I thought that it was a good time to buy, however the events of the last few months in the financial world have changed everything. Psychic ability's would be a fantastic asset but are one thing that I unfortunately lack, however I really can't see prices dropping much more now as cars that are perfectly serviceable and roadworthy are getting broken for spares often by their owners as they are worth more in bits, which is a sad situation.

I'm sure at some point in future S2 values will start to appreciate due to their rarity and justly deserved classic status but when is imposable to forecast. I suppose the upsides to so many cars being broken is that eventually the ones that survive will become more desirable, and the parts from the deceased cars will help to keep others alive.

Corrados are a similar story, I've had a couple both G60 an VR6 variants, great cars and I'd have the G60 over the VR6 any day.

The time will come sooner for the RHD's, regarding increasing value of the S2, than the LHD.
There's some parts that is strictly RHD and LHD when dealing with parts for this cars.
As (a wild guess) there were a lot less RHD's made than LHD's, the second hand parts prices will skyrocket when your cars is starting to run out and people will break their cars even sooner than now to make more money on (especially) strictly RHD parts.

This will in time affect the LHD S2's aswell, then it will be a rampage to get something S2-rare at ebay...
So get what you can, now!
