After fixing all the niggles on my S2 which i have eventually got round to doing over the weekend, i have one last problem to solve and thats getting the speedometer working. I have changed the speed device on the gearbox and checked the dials there does not seem to be any peeling, in the past the speedometer would intermittently work and then stop for weeks on end, but now there is absolutely nothing which is really p***ing me off ahhhhhhhhhhh. Can anyone making any suggestions how i can get the speedo to work again. Dont you just love Audi S2

Check for an earth at the gearbox end. From memory you will have a 5v input and earth, the output voltage will depend on the speed it turns at when you are moving.

Again from memory the center wire is the signal wire. Later ones may be 12v but the voltage does not matter, so long as it has some..

After that check the signal wire for continuity.

After that the dial must be at fault.
