I still love the B5 S4 and of course even more the RS4, but whenever I look under the bonnet of one, it just looks like a whole new world of pain.
Still, with the falling prices of RS4s I can't say I haven't been tempted. I just hope the S2 satisfies my needs when it's running again.

Hi Martyn, glad to hear the S4 is going well, just to let you know the S2 has been as good as I expected, I've covered over 5k already !

I've had a few issues, nothing major though, the coilpacks each failed over a few days so I've replaced these with new VAG items along with the plugs, changing the thermostat made a HUGE difference, it doesn't run in cold start map anymore so its uber powerful on the road, the difference being it was a dead match with my mates Subaru when I got it, now it destroys him, he swears I've been tuning it on the quiet lol

Apart from that you will be pleased to know I've been keeping it as clean as you did, 6 years of running a valeting business does come in handy lol

Next on my list of things to do are subframe bushes as there fecked and polybush the whole car, apart from that Its staying asit is as I have my Mk2 Escort to finish this year and if the fuel bills got a worse on the S2 nothing would get done ha ha
