Took me about a week... Start to finish - never coded PHP in my life and have the motronic binary image parser working a treat. Pretty impressed by my dusty old s/w skills - handling arrays nicely and parsing binary code with multiple pointers.
Testing so far has it finding MANY more maps than OLS ever finds and I have the scaling thing sorted as well... Just some more time required for output formatting into the right flavour I need to import elsewhere, but the donkey work is done...
PHP is very cool - and so simple to get to grips with - all I used as reference was a few on-line sites with command references and sample code. All done and dusted in about 200 lines of code.Paul Nugent

Just saw this thread there now
- nice one on the scripting Paul, I've just finished my SW eng degree and while almost everyone else was using Java (Seems to be the norm in SW Eng courses nowadays) I stuck with PHP as I really liked it. Found it very easy to use and powerful enough for my purpose. Parsing is one of the great strengths of PHP, I think its awesome!Comment
