True... but I was right - there was only a scratch on the tailgate! It's on the 'bay

      NCTS btw...

If you use a caravan hitch off a braked trailer you could rig up a master cylinder that forces fluid to the calipers and applies the brakes.

If you are wanting to convert your coupe to a trailer here's an idea......

Spotted in Grusch this summer. I was amazed at the amount of money this guy had spent on his trailer.

haha. that's a whole other level of mental! Fine idea with the BBQ though. If I ever have a garden big enough I had thought of using the back half of a coupe as a shaded garden seat and teh front half elsewhere with the driver and passenger areas for storage and an almighty BBQ grill under the bonnet. Stereo would remain in both halves of course.

Tonks - that's a bloody good idea. I'll see if I can get the time to do a basic version first and then refine it.

If it was me doing it, i'd get a decent cutter and take it straight down the middle by the back edge of the doors then take the roof off, weld a panel across the front and half way up hinge it, then just plate over the holes left by the roof. Weld the bar for the hitch out the front and wire the rear lights up for the light board.

Easily do-able, with regards to the handbrake you could make a setup using a lockable bike brake on the front bar but tbh if you've not got it on the car it will just be on the ground and the hitch would stop it moving.

Pete - that's another idea with taking the roof off and keeping it open. hmmm. i'm off to stroke my imaginary beard on that.

David - It really does look the shnizzle eh? Wonder how much work it took to get it on there? [cue mad buzz of forum members buying pre facelift bonnets and RS6 bumpers]

I'd really like to see it with the bonnet closed

yeah that should not be too bad with a b3 bonnet and just a bumper, looks mean

@ noel - would be better having no roof as you can get higher stuff on it, less weight so less strain on everything, plus no glass to get damaged and if you had a bit of cloth in your garage or back garden you could stand it up and save space. The rear beam will handle it fine and the rear setup would be cool for it, might need to check spring rates and possible lower it (might have a pair of lowered rear springs if you want them)

In practical terms you're right mate. novelty value would be best with the lid on but chances are if it was used for anything other than cotton wool balls i'd put a window out pretty quickly.
I'll do another one later with a lid and mattress as a mini caravan

I'm going to need something like a stihl saw to cut it aren't i? a grinder with cutting discs just isn't going to do it.

OK, excuse the MS paint effort. no photoshop in work. Think silver instead of red, 15" wheels rather than 17s. I'd need to chop the bit off the back of the tailgate too to maintain that neight all round. Plus there'd be no point doing something this mental and not have the Audi badge right in the middle. Question is.. should i leave the spolier on?

Add a flat cover and that would be awesome actually. plus I could use the roof as the panel to cover the open end... or... as a solid cover!! The missus is going to kill me. Ciaran, you up for this?

I think this last version makes the most sense - at least you'll be able to see out the back with the rearview mirror if the trailer cuts off at this height ...well, when it's empty anyway!

It's not better than sex, but it runs it a close second.

Jesus that's some money spent on a BBQ grill/trailer. Like the RS6 front ends but not sure about the giant skirts leading to massive rear spoilers though. Do you know what's inside the trailer-car?
