  • how much are 5 pot diesel bottom ends worth?

    elo, how much are the 5 cylinder diesel engines worth out of audi 100 turbo diesels? is this the right 1 for stroker conversion?

    You need the one from the A6 AAT or AET block.

      isn't the 100 an AAT too? or is it the A6 one specifically??

          might have been an a6 come to think of it, had a plastic cover on the top of the motor, just noticed it was a 5 cylinder and didnt look much further. now im jobless tho i may go get it if its worth something. lol. so how much should i be paying for it? or how much will i get for it? cheers

            Depends what condition it's in, they seem to have a reputation for breaking cam belts. I've had 3 which I paid around £100each, all with snapped cam belts, and as it's an interference engine it means the head and pistons are history.
            On the other hand I've seen good complete engines for up to £900.

              for just the bottom end i think i remember my mate paying £400, could be wrong though

                I've seen them go from £50-400

                Depends on the condition, most are like Andy says cambelt failures.

                    £400 is way excessive IMO for a used bottom end - no way... I think £100-200 territory personally is what they are worth... depends on how much reconditioning and reuse is needed really to justify price at extremes of that range.
