elo, how much are the 5 cylinder diesel engines worth out of audi 100 turbo diesels? is this the right 1 for stroker conversion?

You need the one from the A6 AAT or AET block. -
isn't the 100 an AAT too? or is it the A6 one specifically??

Depends what condition it's in, they seem to have a reputation for breaking cam belts. I've had 3 which I paid around £100each, all with snapped cam belts, and as it's an interference engine it means the head and pistons are history.
On the other hand I've seen good complete engines for up to £900.sigpic

£400 is way excessive IMO for a used bottom end - no way... I think £100-200 territory personally is what they are worth... depends on how much reconditioning and reuse is needed really to justify price at extremes of that range.Paul Nugent
