        I think you'll find it was a penny (that's a 50% saving on a tuppeny piece )

Cheeky... Well I have deployed the first installment of 'Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure' (quite the most wonderful product name ever) on the windscreen seal - hoping that finds and seals something, but I have to bite the bullet and renew the door seal as well.

Then I have to renew leaking fuel lines that I discovered this week... and renew rear bushes that came out as advisories on MOT last month.

Surely, it should fail on an ineffective handbrake, arsey mechanic or not!

Had my free MOT at Stirling Audi couple of days ago....... Failed on:

Cut in nearside rear tyre - fair enough (should've spotted that one!)

Middle rear seatbelt not extracting properly - WHAT?!

Woman on phone said "don't worry we can supply and fit a new lap belt today, £258"

On collecting the car I went straight into the back and proceeded to pull out the entire length of the lap belt, 1st time. The guys response: "Er well it wasn't like that at the time of the test, and that's what counts. But of course we will pass it on the retest."

Needless to say I was a bit disappointed that they tried to sting me for 258 quid. (Obviously they also tried to sell me just one new tyre.) And I'll be going to my usual garage for the MOT after 4 new Goodyear F1's fitted
