anyone ever had bother with there a6 not starting? took the clocks out today to change a bust bulb.....turned out to be led's so i just stuck it back in there and now it fires but cuts out due to immobiliser its a 1998 1.8t
Well the immobilser is in the dash insert on these cars, i have had mine out with no problems, maybe somehow it's not recognising the key, it was a common fault on audi's of this age for the reader coil in the ignition barrel to go bad, sounds to me like a classic case of that, you got vag-com???? any codes???
vag-com wont connect to immobilizer or instruments, but engine faults read engine start stopped by immobilizer, and the AA mans diagnostic said ecm disabled. been told the immo can be removed ( so you can put these engines into 80s/golfs etc) but im yet to find a price for this
