    Quick New(ish) car for about£10k

I've managed to convince my brother he needs a fast car, and now he's certain he needs one.. would just be a weekend toy for him really, so fuel consumption etc not an issue - but needs to be relibale as he won't be doing much work himself and i won't have time to help out lol. I've tried to steer him towards a B6 S4 but he thinks he wants a coupe. Anyone know what a B6 S4 will make with some decats and a Revo chip or similar?

    Suggestions for about £10k? (ish)

One of the new breed of hyper hatch, Focus ST, Megane 225 etc. Or a newer hot hatch, Clio 197, Fiesta ST, Polo GTI etc. etc. All available from 2004 onwards @ £10 or less, great fun and practical with it.

As for coupes, 350Z is on budget, Porsch 968 (not new but still ace), any BMW you care to mention, even E46 M3s are near £10k now!

As a w/end toy might be worth looking at a 911 or 964, above cars mentioned all good but i'd say they were more everyday cars.

I wrote that before I properly read Error's thread

Clio 182 Trophy is a good weekend toy

For £10k you could get an Elise / VX220 / Caterham. A mate might be sellling a very good VX NA in the near future.

Jeez, they've come down in price a lot recently! (as has everything with large engines I suppose). Serious bit of kit too.

A mate of mine had a VX220 Turbo, great fun and could be quite economic too when called for. Not the most practical thing in the world though for day to day.

Focus ST? At least it has a 5 pot soundtrack

Went in a mate's new Sucof ST and it was quite nice, pretty large car, loads of torque and a nice beefy soundtrack to boot.

He wants something a bit mroe grown-up than a hot hatch, old 968 or 911 is an interesting thought, would depend on how reliable they were I suppose..
He's been looking at Beemers but i'm trying to steer him towards somethin with the right number of rings on it

VX220 or an Elise might be worth a look, but by the sound of it he wants something for all conditions, thats quick and knowing him, something surefooted would be a bonus

Dare I say it as chavvy as they are an Evo might fit the bill
