Snetterton track day (warning pic heavy)

I spoke to stiglett yesterday who mentioned that he was taking a trip down to the circuit for the track day today so I thought i'd pop along with my girlfriend and see how he got on.

Suffice to say there was some interesting cars out on track and even though it was a bit cold there was still a good turn out, quite a few cars popping flames etc and alex's (stigletts) car has some amazing amounts of grip, it surprised a few people and he was actually getting held up by cateram's on the bends

The day went well for most with only the odd hitch, and some nutty bloke in a type R civic that nearly wrote off a couple of cars. It was brilliant with the open pit lane so people could come and go as they pleased which helped out.

    playing catchup

This guy was let out on track all day long, this is one of the better pictures of the smoke, it was ALOT worse than this at times.

    various cars

    LPG track day barge/toy

How this guy managed to pass the sound test is beyond me

This had a true touring car soundtrack to it

This was surprisingly slow compared to some cars, maybe the driver wasn't trying

This guy , not only was he getting it sideways and showing the stig the lines but actually painted his car with a roller Nice m3 engine under the bonnet as well. 1100kg

all in all a very good day, cheap for the hire of the helmets and the passenger rides, some cool luminous wrist bands that won't come off without force and lots and lots of track time, you could practically stay out all day if you wanted.

            Cheers stiglett

Was a good mix of cars out there, lots of bmw's which made it interesting, pug's galore a few evo's and lotus's.

There was a morgan for rarity

                  This was running 700bhp+

Was truly amazing some of the speeds stiglet managed to get thru the bends and he was able to get some proper slides at the top end of the straight.

                  nice plate

Today was fun, but i'm completely spent! Will have some vids to post tomorrow, nothing too interesting though as it gave up before i could really get going on the track.

Pete, thanks for all the pics glad you could make it over. You'll have to get the S2 finished shrapish and get over to Donny

Stuarts M3 is mental. Love that thing. With all the mods and the car itself, 5000 quid spent in total. 280 bhp, RWD and 1100kgs makes for a tempting option! No wander these beemer things are popular...

For the first time i decided to strip out the back seats, door cards, and all the carpet and found this made for a much more tail happy experience Even with the whiteline on minimum setting, i found myself sliding broadside through braking zones

what size wheels and tires on the azevs?
I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got quattro?

It didn't occur to me I thought you lived a bit more down south from there, should have remembered as I saw the turn off for lakenheath/cullum3n.

Yeah no worries mate, we was both happy that you was kind enough to take us out in your car, sorry about the passenger seat tho must have been interesting to change gear to find the seat slide backwards

Sideways, you might as well have been spending all day drifting that car, sooooooo controllable tho and the amount of stuff you was able to keep up with, it was only the more serious cars that could pull away on the straights, the corners no chance you was right up behind pretty much anything and having to back off

8.5j wide 17s with 235 wide tyres iirc from what I saw the other day (think thats correct)

Its not that complex but as you mention definately a fast one with the two straights, some areas of the run off could have done with being finished a bit better from what I saw as they looked like they was a bit worn out so if you used all the track and happened to go onto them it was like you was driving on some of our less maintained motorways

Some of the cars was getting stupid speeds up by the end of the pit lane straight and into the first corner, at least one car spun off there judging from the tyre marks (this was when I went out with the stig) as he had just had it completely sideways at around 100mph thru this corner but easily controlled.
