Has anyone heard of or know anywhere that rents out a 4 post ramp on a daily basis??? Sometimes ramps and trolley jacks just don't cut it. south east uk preferred.

maybe we should setup regional workshops, 1 or 2 four post lifts in each and book them. Sign a waiver, supply your own tools and probably would self fund in a few months...

Funny, having been working in my driveway i was thainking about this as well. I spoke to my legal advisor etc and the insurance even with a waiver would be an absoute nightmare, if you could even get it.

He said you read all the threads on the internet from corsa forums etc of the idiots who do work, now imagine them using a ramp!

But I did run the figures and yes it would work with in about 4-5 months, and I believe with the current economic climate the market for it will increase with people doing more work themselves.

If it was possible to find a company willing to insure the scheme then i'm sure it would be viable.

I know I am in the middle of the country and not much use to you southern guys, but I am willing for people to hire my ramp if they need it. Unfortunatly it is outside but I can supply warm tea or coffee...

I'll post them up when i get home, one other consideration is that all the premises would preferably have to be purchesed as otherwise it would be techniclly sub-let, and then you get into problems of contracts etc.

it has to cost in I think...even if you then blocked out some to to other respected communities for a premium you'd break even within 6 months.

Tis the essence of a good idea... These things aren't as expensive as they used to be, but I too would be concerned about the insurance and other red-tape which would undoubtedly complicate an otherwise simple suggestion.
