    help needed....desperate...

having had my clutch give up the ghost last week I am now in the unfortuante position of having to "borrow" the wife's car to get to work....and she's having to use the bus...bless her....

I am now looking at a long delay in getting a clutch plate as it is on back order from audi...and I won't know for how long until monday....it's not looking good...

has anyone got any suggestions about what I could use and where I could get it from

    Clutch Plate

    Hi Mike,

You can try a company called Competition Braking Products (01748 831 200).

They do Sachs clutch products and are very reasonable on price and if they have stock, they will deliver for next working day too.

    Cheers,

    Lionel

I looked at getting the ABY clutch kit from ECP, £189 plus vat. LUK item i believe. They had them in stock. I ended up fitting my 3B flywheel, and re-using my clutchnet kit as the 3B clutch kit that I had on backorder went NLA

Is this for a 3B or ABY? The 3B item I got from Audi was a LUK item () so you might be just as well getting a LUK one from GSF rather than waiting for the same part with some "OOOO" part nos printed on for more money. The other option is to speak to Pete @ Quattro Corner, I'm sure he'll help you.

            Edit:- Too slow

I'm sure Pete Reeve at QC could also help you out.

If you've got a relatively standard engine, I'd strongly advise you to use the pressure plate from Audi because in my experience it gives a much lower clutch pedal pressure over the original car which makes driving the car in traffic so much easier. It also helps the clutch master cylinder live longer as there is less stress on the rubber flexi in the pushrod and the pressure plate is exchange which makes it cheaper
