It was one of those b'stard little white vans with the blacked out window in the back (saw it parked up few days later in same spot).
I argued the toss but as the owner of the vehicle it was my responsibility to supply the name of the person driving so was pretty screwed. If you are pulled over from one of the hand held ones you can ask for certificate of calibration on their laser and also the fact that the fuzz operating it is qualified. (this was few years ago so dont know what the rules are now) Also, i believe they're not allowed to jump out from behind trees etc, they have to be in view of the motorists.
