Compare petrol & diesel prices near you, rant and rave about local stations and earn points by downloading the free mobile app.

at 71p per £1 in tax that makes the duty on the 29p of fuel be at 245% just me or is that crazy

...and they are putting an extra 0.035p a litre on top for LPG. Apparently since 2003 the environmental benefits of LPG no longer justified the level of duty differential. So assuming I'm reading that correctly, at some point the properties of LPG gas changed

id rather they knocked back by oh say 200% i wouldn't mind 45%

it to much wasted government money, for example a contractor for resurfacing a road would earn the contractor a few million, yet was done in house by the government would take less than million. i understand its "good for the economy for money to move about but the men the ground get paid the same while the contractor buys a frezza
or bodies like EHS and all the other wishy washy bodies that "protect the environment"

I read yesterday that the last time petrol was 90p per litre the oil price was $68 a barrel. The oil price now is around $45 yet petrol is 90p!! Go figure...

I also saw some politician arguing that the cost of petrol is falling. It's actually gone up around 4p this year alone and around 6-8p if you include the end of last year. T'is all bol lox!!!

Must be my fault, it always seems to shoot up just before I retax the car for its 6 months on the road and drops when I SORN it each year....The fuel companies milking/fleecing classic car owners or what
